Are we there yet?

It was a calm, peaceful day.

The birds were happily chirping and I was found listening to all the kind sounds of nature.

This was officially the best day of my life…

Until my sister reminded me that I just got lost in thought and it still was a long drive.

“Are we there yet?”Alyssa asked. She was obviously getting bored to death by the hour.

“I must admit, I do not share your enthusiasm Mom. Like how?”She asked mum who was having the time of her life upfront with Dad.

“What do y-”

“Rhetorical question Mum”, Alyssa blurted out.

This was her natural environment.She likes to pick on people whenever she's bored.

I tried to get lost in thought again But Alyssa was not helping me do so.

That just lit up a light bulb in my Mind.

The type where you don't care whatever you do and whatever consequences you face.

That type.

“Just stop complaining for once will you?”I questioned.

“You can talk, you have experience on roadtrips, I don't!”, she was fuming and I was literally thinking hot air was bursting out of her ears.She was mad.

“Oh, I’m sorry, Alyssa, did I push a button?”, I laughed with glee.

Yes I admit, It didn't make me feel right that I was picking on my older sister but it certainly brought me out of this bored state.

“Don't be so naive Claire”, She responded and then looked at the boring scenery.

I hopped onto my phone mighty pleased with the revenge I got.

I decided I’d let her cool down for a bit.

“Clarie bear? We’re almost there sweety just 1 more painful hour”.

Then she smiled.

How strange I thought. She has never said anything like this before.

Anyway, I put on my headphones and watched some Naruto while my sister sat there enjoying the scenery kinda, and dad and mum were having a good ol’ chat.

“Are we there yet?”, Alyssa asked for the second time.

Bless your soul,, Alyssa.Whats the matter?”Mum asked.

“I am just so bored!There's nothing to do, Clarie gets her phone, It's just not fair!”, she complained.

“Make yourself useful and have a nap if that satisfies you”, Mum screamed.

She cried.

She cried so many tears her shirt was damp.

She cried herself to sleep.

“Where are we going Mum?”, I asked.

She was asleep too.

How strange.

Just then we ploughed through the trees off the road and into the ocean.

I tried to open the door but I stopped.

Don't be so naive Clarie, Alyssas words echoed through my mind.

“Alyssa! Dad, Mum! Wake up! We are drowning!”, I screamed in complete fear.

This was the end.

The end of college, the end of Justin, The end of everything.

I made a vow to Justin that I would fall in his arms once I was back.

Memories flashed before my eyes.

Me, Alyssa, Justin , and Phoenix playing truth or dare.

Alyssa and I picked truth and both of the boys asked

“Who do you like?”

Alyssa, answered,”The most adorable and handsome boy in front of me.

I can even feel your heat from across the room Phoenix”, She said wittedly.

She fell in his arms very happy with her new crush.

I jumped out of bed getting ready for school.

“Clarie you're gonna miss the bus!” Alyssa shouted.

“How are we still alive? We drowned!” I said puzzled.

“Don't be so naive Clarie”, Alyssa said. “It was only a dream”.

Me and Alyssa hurriedly ran to class, carrying our textbooks.

Our class was right on the end of the block, it was so far away.

The bell rang unexpectedly.

I took a quick glance behind us to see that Justin and Phoenix were on our tail.

In a good way, I mean.

We got to class and that's when I realised we had a reliever today.

Our teacher fell prey to the fly virus, or flyrus yesterday, Phoenix told me.

How sad, I thought.

“Hello everyone! My name is Mr. patato and I'm your reliever today!”, he said cheerfully.

“It's So hot in here! Clarie, can you go open the windows?”Mr. Potato asked

“Psst! Psst! Hey Clarie!”, Alyssa whispered. I turned around to see who was trying to get my attention.

“Yeah?”, I responded.

“Don't go!It's just Phoenix!”, Alyssa said while giving Phoenix a quick twinkle.

Mr. Potato heard this and he got pretty annoyed.

So he said,” Free time until lunch!”, he said and then walked out of the room.

He left written on the board,

Alyssa and ‘heatboy’ found themselves conversing at an alarming rate.

I also fell into conversation with Justin and that's how we concluded our morning…
